Stanley #1

Standard

Stanley was in his room, living a normal rare life with a normal job. Stanley was a normal person or so he thought. Stanley started to walk to work. When Stanley arrived at work he went into his office. But Stanley thinks there is something wrong. Stanley was walking around Stanley’s workplace when Stanley realised no one was there.

The first thing in Stanley’s mind was to go to his boss’s office. So Stanley did. When Stanley got there, a chair was facing the opposite way. Stanley slowly walked up to it. Stanley grabbed the chair… Stanley spun the chair, and no one was there.

Stanley looked around; there were bookcases all around the room. All books were a dark colour except one. Stanley looked at the title of the book. Rise of the Ponies and unicorns. Stanley pulled the book and some secret stairs opened up. Stanley walked down the stairs with no thought given. The truth is, Stanley does not think much. Stanley just does it. In that time we were talking. Stanley reached the bottom of the stair case.

There was a door. Stanley opened the door. Stanley looked around. Stanley saw rainbows with fluffy kittens sliding on them. Stanley saw ponies playing and head butting each other. Stanley saw a magical pony flying through the sky with an ice cream on its forehead. Stanley wanted that ice cream because it was Stanley’s favourite flavour RAINBOW. Then there were other ponies with ice creams on their hea… Oh wait they’re unicorns. The pony just wanted to fit in. The unicorns were flying in circles when one vomited a rainbow. Stanley, Stanley is all around an unlucky person. To add to his unlucky-ness the rainbow landed on him. That unicorn went down and Stanley went on it to fly away.

THE END

My Term Three SMART Goals.

Standard

This is my term 3 SMART goal. Remember my first goal? But anyways in year 5 we are expected to write goals. Goals are important because they help us improve things that we are bad at. It feels good when you achieve your goal. Doesn’t it. SMART is an acronym. S stands for Specific. M stands for Measurable. A stand for Achievable. R stands for Realistic. Finally T stands for Time Bound. We have another acronym that we use and it is SWOT. S stands for Strengths. W stands for Weaknesses. O stands for Opportunities. Finally T stands for Threats.

Here is a word document to see my goals.

Three Way Conference Reflection

Standard

On Wednesday 25th of June 2014 at 2:15pm I presented my learning to my mum (Mom). I shared my learning by doing a 3 way conference. The learning I shared was my digital portfolio.

I learnt that organisation can mean everything in a three away conference because you don’t want to waste your time and bore your parents or guardians as well as the teacher for minutes. There is nothing worse than anyone listening to you and they can’t understand what you are saying. You have to repeat it and waste precious time so speaking clearly is very important. Confidence is good because if you don’t have confidence you will probably be mumbling and mess up your words and it won’t make sense.

I am now going to share with you what went well. I shared with my mum everything I wanted to share. I spoke clearly and my mum could understand me. I tried to use as much eye contact as I could and I think I had the perfect amount of eye contact.

The thing that I think went bad is that my mum could easily see me reading my cue cards. Also the placement of them was under my leg so they were hard to get out and under the table.

The feeling I had before the three way conference is nervous, worried, and scared. I felt like this because I thought I might stuff it up and forget my lines. After the conference I felt relieved, relaxed, proud, concerned, happy, and excited. I felt like this because I was relieved and happy when I finished and concerned that I didn’t do a good job.

The thing I will change and do better next time is to remember and rehearse my script more. Only have little cue cards to make me remember what I was going to say. Also I will improve my speaking by talking slower.

Teamwork!

We are working in a team on the passive energy design house assignment. We are sharing our research about passive designs.

We will need to do all these to be a successful team. We need to be responsible and not get off task. We all have to participate and not slack off. we have to listen to each other and speak clearly while we are sharing ideas.  We all need to be organized and have a different role in planning and building. We have to rely on each other to be focused. Our research has to accurate and be correct.

I think my team is going exceptionally well. I will give our team a 4 out of 5 because we completed everything we have to but we got off task a tiny bit.
